Drake Cottage
1 double – 2 twin rooms
(the twin downstairs is now an interlocking bed and can be made up into a kindgize if requested)
In traditional farmhouse style, Drake Cottage belongs to the west wing of our historic 16th century farmhouse.
If you like space, Drake is definitely for you as all of its rooms enjoy generous proportions. The front door leads to a spacious, well-equipped kitchen with hob, oven and fridge freezer, set in an imposing inglenook. There is also a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
The large, country-style table can seat up to 12 people, a real bonus when Drake is let along with neighbouring Rook.
The living room, with ramped wheelchair access, is large and comfortable with a pine-stripped floor, wood burner, Welsh dresser, huge sofas and footstool. There is also a TV and DVD player. Leading off from this room, is a downstairs twin bedroom with a specially adapted en-suite shower room suitable for persons with impaired mobility. We have recently replaced the twin beds with interlocking beds, so a kingsize bed may be made up if preferred. Double doors open out onto the paved patio.
Upstairs, there are two large bedrooms – one twin and one double with a four poster bed. There is also a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.
A ramp leads to the pavedpatio area, where garden furniture and barbecue make this the perfect place to enjoy evening meals watching the setting sun.
Drake has inter-communicating doors with Rook Cottage next door. Double bookings are available for larger parties.
Towels and bed linen are included. There is free wifi available. Dogs are welcome in Drake.
No smoking inside any of our properties. Pets welcome by arrangement in Drake Cottage. We make a charge of £25 per pet for each stay. There is also a couple of outdoor kennels for those times when you simply have to leave your dogs for one reason or another!
